Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is the Yoga of ‘Being’, rather than the Yoga of ‘Doing’. We work very hard in our lives, and while we may sleep, we rarely take time to rest. Restorative yoga is a delicious surrender into quiet, supported postures on bolsters and blankets. The poses help relieve the effects of chronic stress. The use of props provides a completely supportive environment for total relaxation, and each restorative sequence is designed to move the spine in all directions and facilitate a deep release. As your body finds the shape of the posture and melts into place your nervous system switches to calmness and a deep inner healing mode.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa is a fun, invigorating class where the body and mind playfully explore yoga postures. Vinyasa Yoga integrates hatha yoga postures into a vinyasa (flowing from one posture to the next) with some held postures to balance strength and freedom in body, mind and spirit. Grace, fluidity and joy grow from the inside out. This increases strength, flexibility and focus while clearing the body of toxins, leaving you feeling calm and centered.

Yin Yoga

The focus of Yin Yoga practice is to maintain or restore the elasticity of the connective tissue in the large joints in the body, namely the spine, hips, lower back and pelvis. Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. A regular Yin practice can effectively aid in opening up the hip joints and provide decompression of the spine while helping students of all levels and ages attain a deeper degree of flexibility in the joints and thus advancing their regular practice.
